Fun, Fun, and more Fun!

“Welcome to Disneyland for Senior!” a friend told me when I arrived in this city a little over ten years ago. And so it is. We are lucky to live in a city known to many as the capital of entertainment. And despite the limitations of the pandemic, it’s true: there is no such thing as Las Vegas.

Remember that the purpose of this series of blogs is to help you save money in different facets of life. Today I’m going to give you some tips to save on what I call healthy or family-friendly fun in Las Vegas. The others are personal.

For example, hotel offers. Just by requesting a player card you receive discounts (without even having to play). You will be able to enjoy events, meals, and much more. They’ll even mail you more discounts after you sign up.

For events, if you or a family member work at the hotels, ask about employee discounts. Just visit the sales center or the employee website. Dozens of events at half the price. There are even online services that sell tickets at a lower price. Some have memberships that give you access to multiple events a year without having to pay the extra penny.

Nature lover? Buy the annual pass for federal parks. It gives you access to all federal parks for one year for the value of the admission to three parks.

Movie lover? Build your own home theater. It will be much cheaper in the long run. Affordable technology already exists to place the quality of a movie theater in your home, without have to spend hundreds of dollars a year on popcorn, hot dogs, and soda

In short, there are many was to save and still have fun. Next month, a topic that for me is the most interesting. TAXES.
